‘I’m topping myself up every week to make sure I can give you everything’

Adele is opening up to fans about her experiences with therapy.

According to multiple press reports and video footage, the British singer gotcandid about mental health during her Friday, Dec. 9 night performance as partof her “Weekends with Adele” residency in Las Vegas. The Grammy winner toldconcert-goers that she has “started having therapy again.”

“I went a few years not having it,” she added, per the Independent.

The 34-year-old went on to share that she had previously sought out therapyamid her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki. Adele filed for divorce in2019, and the former couple — who share 10-year-old son Angelo — finalized themarital split in March 2021. She is now dating sports agent Rich Paul.

“Before, obviously, when I was going through my divorce, I was like, basicallyin like five therapy sessions a day,” she told fans with a laugh.

The “Hello” singer shared that in undergoing therapy she had “stopped holdingmyself accountable for my own behavior and the things I would say and it’sbecause I would always fall back on my therapist,” joking about how she andher therapist would rationalize why she was acting a certain way, sayingthings like, “because when you were 10 this happened.”

“I needed to just hold myself accountable for it,” she admitted.

But that experience hasn’t put her off from resuming resumed therapy; it’sjust changed her intentions.

“Now I am doing it because I just want to make sure I’m topping myself upevery week to make sure I can give you everything,” she said.

Adele revealed that she and her current therapist have been discussing thestress she typically feels about doing live shows, noting that she tends toget “emotional.”

“I love making music, but there is something about performing live thatactually terrifies me and fills me with dread normally,” she said. “That iswhy I am not a big touring artist. I did it last time to prove I could do it.But this experience of being in a room this size, I think I might be a liveartist for the rest of my life. “

Story continues

Though she acknowledged that she feels a lot of pressure to be perfect, Adeleis learning to let some of that go and just bask in the support she gets fromher audiences.

“if my voice ain’t top-notch that’s alright, but my soul is top-notch, I’lltell you that — that’s what I try to say to my therapist,” she said to cheersbefore adding that the “human interaction ” she gets from her weekend showshas made her the “happiest I’ve ever ever ever been.”

Adele — who also offered well wishes to fellow singer Céline Dion followingher announcement that she has stiff person syndrome — has previously spokenabout the heartache she experienced during her divorce.

“It made me really sad,” she told Rollingstone or the separation. “Thenhaving so many people that I don’t know know that I didn’t make that work …it f***ing devastated me. I was embarrassed. No one made me feel embarrassed, but you feel like you didn’t do a good job.”

During that time, the newly single star focused on her mental health, whichincluded sound baths, meditation and “a lot of therapy,” according to herinterview with Vogue last year. She has also credited her new gym routinewith not only changing her body but helping her heal mentally.

“I realized that when I was working out, I didn’t have any anxiety,” she toldthe magazine. “It was never about losing weight. I thought, If I can make mybody physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day Ican make my emotions and my mind physically strong.”

Just up to here, Gideon makes fun of van Meijeren

Viewers thoroughly enjoyed last night again Until here. The satire programmainly got the laughs on its side with a fragment in which they poke fun atthe much-discussed FvD member Gideon van Meijeren. “Honk, honk, honk, honk, honk, without a driver’s license on the scooter.”

In Until Here comedians Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe go through theweek in a musical performance. Although the program was not shown on the tubeat the usual time due to the World Cup football (France took on England in thequarter finals), 1.6 million people were still glued to their television laterin the evening.

Just up to here, the mockery of Gideon van Meijeren floats

You may be wondering: what is going on with that Van Meijeren now? It iscertainly not the first time that the politician has caused a stir. Forexample, there was the clash with political reporter Merel Ek, which provokeda lot of outrage, and he got the whole of The Hague on its roof after a videoin which he called for a revolutionary uprising against the government.

Last week Van Meijeren was in the news a lot because of a lawsuit with himselfin the lead role. The FvD member drove his light moped through a red lightalmost a year ago, while his driver’s license had previously been taken awayfrom him by the court. That happened after he refused to cooperate with abreathalyzer test. Something he himself called a “physical examination.” Herefused because he said he felt intimidated by the police at the time. VanMeijeren has the idea that he has been pursued and harassed by the policelately.

Even Until Here responds brilliantly to this with a parody of the cult hit_with Romana on the scooter_ by Singer Rinus. “Honk, honk, honk, honk, honk, without a driver’s license on the scooter. Eie, eie, eie, eie, eise, they seeme through red row again. Something, something, something, something, something, then the police always come. Bait test, bait test, bait test, baittest, bait test, and then I need another physical.”

Hilarity on Twitter after fragment

Twitter users are doubled over the fragment. “Iron strong,” it says. „ EvenUntil Here is gold again how they put that Gideon van Meijeren even more toshame,” writes a viewer. “Emphasis on even more, because Gideon had alreadymade a fool of himself enough.” Another: “Hats off to the way in whichagitator Gideon van Meijeren is taken into custody Until here. But theunderlying message is deadly serious.”

The weekend of ‘Safety First’ actor Bruno Vanden Broucke (48): “The clichés, with full dedication!” | Good weekend

“I feel blessed that I found the job of my life. Although it sometimes fallson the weekend.” As a result, actor and dad of three, Bruno Vanden Broecke(48), has less time for his family than he would like. So he prefers to spendhis weekends with them in simplicity: walking, with a visit to the bakery.“The Christmas holidays are sacred. We then do a pajama or onesie day or put’When Harry Met Sally’ on repeat.”

How and where does the famous Fleming spend his ideal weekend? With thatquestion, NINA goes out with a BV to his or her favorite spot. Because, nomatter how you fill in the end of the week, everyone has to blow out. Read allthe inspiring stories here.

“As an actor, my weekend is atypical. My heart is with theater and for that Igo to the extremes of Flanders on Saturday afternoon. When I get home, myfamily is asleep and I watch TV to let the adrenaline of play flow out of mybody. I go to sleep late, but get up early for family time. On Sunday, the keyword is ‘together’, whatever we do. And it must be soothing: we play gooseboard or go to the bakery together. Sometimes my youngest son and I get upearly to spot a deer in the Peerdsbos.”

Quote >>> That I enjoy walking so much sounds boring, but it keeps my feet on the> ground.>> Bruno Vandenbroecke

“The older I get, the more peace walking gives me. There is not much greeneryin Antwerp, outside the Rivierenhof, where I know every blade of grass andfour-leaf clover by heart. So I take the car to the Peerdsbos to run or walkfor an hour. I stop about fifteen times to look at trees and mushrooms. A treeis the most beautiful thing there is.”

“The fact that I enjoy walking so much sounds boring, but it keeps my feet onthe ground. As a child I had fields in Waasmunster, and I long for them again.Only my guests love the city and you can’t get them out. The compromise is awalk here.”

“Those moments together are becoming scarcer, especially now that the boys aregetting older and drifting away from home. Now I want to enjoy them, becauseit goes fast. I don’t feel fear that they will ever leave the nest, rathersadness: that’s how things go. Sometimes I don’t have enough time for them. When a premiere approaches, I’m not home enough for my liking for three weeks.I keep the Christmas holidays free, it is sacred. We’ll do a pajama or onesieday, brunch, or put ‘When Harry Met Sally’ on repeat. The clichés, with fulldedication!”

RebeccaFertinel©Rebecca Fertinel

“I sometimes miss dinners with friends, even though we call a lot. Withfriendships it is ebb and flow, everyone has their life. They are luxuryproblems and you won’t hear me complain. I feel blessed that I found the jobof my life. Although it sometimes falls on the weekend.”

Es asqueroso”, opina Page, the HRW.

the story behind the song ‘Brown Eyed Girl’

As wonderfully nostalgic as ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ is, the birth of that evergreenwas so unruly. In any case, it became the song that made Van Morrison worldfamous.

Sasha Van Der SpeetenDecember 10, 202203:00

In September of this year, Northern Ireland’s Belfast unpacked a brand new VanMorrison Walking Tour, a tourist walk through places in the city that featuredin Van’s classic songs. You stroll along Cypress Avenue (the song of the samename is on the mighty Astral Weeks), Hyndford Street, where his childhood homestood, and The Beechie River (both from ‘On Hyndford Street’) or along theOrangefield High School. Most of the selfies will be taken at Hollow Grove, apatch of greenery that Van used to get into mischief in his childhood andwhich forms the backdrop for ‘Brown Eyed Girl’. “Hey, where did we go?”, hemuses, “Days when the rain came / Down in The Hollow / Playin ‘ a new game /Laughing and a running / Skipping and a jumping / In the misty morning fogwith our hearts a thumpin.”

Now Van Morrison colored all that nostalgia with a touch of poetic license.Into the mine “Going down the old mine / With a transistor radio”, wouldreally have been no more than an old bong, just big enough for little Van andhis comrades to slide through. The waterfall in ” All along the waterfallwith you” did not exist: in The Hollow there are at most streams of water. When Van hides behind a rainbow wall with his brown-eyed lover – “Standing inthe sunlight laughing / Hiding behind a rainbow ‘s wall” – refers to achipped piece of wall that once belonged to the Rainbow candy store.

The Van Morrison who recorded ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ in March 1967 in New York’sA&R Studios may have been brimming with inspiration, but he was by no meanscarefree. His band Them had just split up and he was practically broke. Hisfate lay in the hands of producer Bert Berns, a veteran who had packed thestudio with the very best session musicians including guitarists Al Gorgoni, and Hugh McCracken who later said “there was something special in the air thatday”. Moreover, it was Gorgoni who came up with the iconic guitar tune thatkicks off ‘Brown Eyed Girl’.

Censorship

“At the start of the session, Van was a shy, withdrawn 21-year-old,” CissyHouston of backing vocalist The Sweet Inspirations recalled. “But as soon asthe tape started, it was like a sparking power cable, full of ideas andimprovisation. By the end he was scathing like a madman, soaking wet withsweat.”

Van partly got the basis for the song from ‘Brownskin Gal’ by the BahamianJoseph Spence. Berns, who had lived in Havana, was also not averse to somemambo and calypso and based the song on a simplified Afro-Caribbean rhythm. Bythe way, the song was originally called “Brown Skinned Girl,” a title that VanMorrison reportedly changed mindlessly during the writing process. “After therecordings I looked at the tape box and saw ‘brown eyed girl’. I even forgotthat I had changed the title. Or did Van and his retinue fear the wrath of theultra-conservative media at the time? A single who sings about an interracialrelationship could be banned.

Censorship came anyway, but then because of the text line “Making love in thegreen grass / Behind the stadium with you”. Some radios thought that was toorancid. So Van recorded a chaste version: “Laughing and a running, hey hey, behind the stadium”. Everyone satisfied.
