Egyptologist James Spader (Daniel Jackson) and military iron-eater JackO’Neill (Kurt Russell) travel through a gateway to a distant planet where analien monster has disguised itself as the deity Ra to enslave the inhabitants.The high pulp content almost splashes off the screen, but the whole is soskillfully made with convincing special effects that the film is pureentertainment for two hours. The story of this entertaining blockbuster shouldbe taken with a grain of salt.
