She said that last night RTL Boulevard. Gordon, now living in Dubai, wasasked in the NPO 1 talk show about human rights in the oil states because ofthe World Cup in Qatar. The singer spoke of a ‘teaching finger from the Dutch’towards the country and said that people are too ‘woke’ nowadays. Jongepierhad previously told about her departure from Radboud University because oftransgressive behaviour.
Just after her own conversation, Gordon’s words fell the wrong way. ‘Puttingabuses into perspective and laughing them off, something that I am notunfamiliar with at the university, I thought, demanded a rebuttal. Becausethat didn’t happen, I felt obliged to do so myself,” said Jongepier in astatement yesterday.
She would have preferred to respond with words, she said after the broadcast.’But after the previous item I didn’t have the energy for that anymore. At thesame time, I couldn’t sit there sheepishly and didn’t want the conversationabout transgressive behavior to be overshadowed by comments about how weshouldn’t all be such moral knights, and so it happened.’
