International Beyoncé Day at Club NYX, Amsterdam
The most outspoken fans gathered at Club NYX on Friday, September 23. Thismeeting place on Reguliersdwarsstraat is one of the rare clubs in Amsterdamthat is still reminiscent of the open-minded 80s and 90s in the capital. Amelting pot of all cultures, subcultures and sexual preferences is the normalstandard here.
Once a year, the club is filled with Beyoncé fans, in all keys. Chris andMarjan portrayed some of them during International Beyoncé Day. With the keyquestion: what makes Queen B so special?

“I’ve been giving an annual Beyoncé party for five years now. It’s kind of anunofficial pre-party for this party. She is the greatest entertainer alive. Ireally like the way she makes music, how she makes art, how she lives herlife. And I’m also a big fan of marketing. I wish I had that grain of thought, how she positions herself in the music world and in the world itself.”

“There are several reasons why I am a fan of Beyoncé, but I will give one: shecompletes me. My drag is also partly inspired by her. I saw her for the firsttime when I was seven. I thought she was a goddess with so much power. Ithought I want to be like that when I grow up and here I am.”
