Viewers thoroughly enjoyed last night again Until here. The satire programmainly got the laughs on its side with a fragment in which they poke fun atthe much-discussed FvD member Gideon van Meijeren. “Honk, honk, honk, honk,honk, without a driver’s license on the scooter.”
In Until Here comedians Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe go through theweek in a musical performance. Although the program was not shown on the tubeat the usual time due to the World Cup football (France took on England in thequarter finals), 1.6 million people were still glued to their television laterin the evening.
Just up to here, the mockery of Gideon van Meijeren floats
You may be wondering: what is going on with that Van Meijeren now? It iscertainly not the first time that the politician has caused a stir. Forexample, there was the clash with political reporter Merel Ek, which provokeda lot of outrage, and he got the whole of The Hague on its roof after a videoin which he called for a revolutionary uprising against the government.
Last week Van Meijeren was in the news a lot because of a lawsuit with himselfin the lead role. The FvD member drove his light moped through a red lightalmost a year ago, while his driver’s license had previously been taken awayfrom him by the court. That happened after he refused to cooperate with abreathalyzer test. Something he himself called a “physical examination.” Herefused because he said he felt intimidated by the police at the time. VanMeijeren has the idea that he has been pursued and harassed by the policelately.
Even Until Here responds brilliantly to this with a parody of the cult hit_with Romana on the scooter_ by Singer Rinus. “Honk, honk, honk, honk, honk,without a driver’s license on the scooter. Eie, eie, eie, eie, eise, they seeme through red row again. Something, something, something, something,something, then the police always come. Bait test, bait test, bait test, baittest, bait test, and then I need another physical.”

Twitter users are doubled over the fragment. “Iron strong,” it says. „ EvenUntil Here is gold again how they put that Gideon van Meijeren even more toshame,” writes a viewer. “Emphasis on even more, because Gideon had alreadymade a fool of himself enough.” Another: “Hats off to the way in whichagitator Gideon van Meijeren is taken into custody Until here. But theunderlying message is deadly serious.”
