NPO Radio 1

In principle, Radio 1 follows the normal programming during Christmas.However, some programs have been given a different interpretation or otherpresenters can be heard that you are used to.

Because there are no sports, ‘NOS Langs de Lijn’ will be canceled and specialprograms can be heard in the evenings and on Christmas Day in the afternoon.For example, a long interview can be heard every evening. King Willem-Alexander’s Christmas speech will also be broadcast live.

NPO Radio 4

A number of Christmas concerts can of course be heard on Radio 4. For example,on Christmas Eve from 20:00 to 22:30, the ‘NPO Radio 4 Christmas concert’ willbe broadcast from the Jacobikerk in Utrecht. The concert will be performed bythe Groot Omroepkoor and members of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra,conducted by Ed Spanjaard.

On Christmas Day, the ‘Christmas matinee’ can be heard from the Concertgebouwin Amsterdam in the afternoon from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The classic channelalso follows the normal programming, but of course there is plenty ofattention for Christmas music in the programs. For example, on Christmas Dayfrom 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, a special about Handel’s Messiah can be heard in’Diskotabel’ and on Boxing Day, live Christmas music will be played in’Maatwerk’.
