1. On wheels

Jotunheimen is an incredibly beautiful nature park in Norway. For us itis a five-hour drive with the mobile home through the deep snow. Reallypowerful for a weekend getaway. During the day you go for a walk in the coldand in the evening you snuggle up close together.”

2. In a small village

Galna Tuppen ‘crazy roosters’ in Dutch, is a restaurant and bar in themiddle of nowhere. Quite a strange place, where the suitcases stick to theceiling and dung beetles are on the wallpaper. But it is so nice and you caneat very well. Not fancy and not expensive at all, but cozy. I alwaysrecommend this to guests of our campsite.”

“Although you might think so Gothenburg is merely a port city, it is avery nice city for a city trip. You have Haga nearby: a long street withartisan shops. In the winter very cozy to walk through with the snow and thelighting. They sell nice Christmas presents and Christmas cards. Think ofself-knitted gloves.”

It is a wonderful tapas restaurant in an old bankbuilding. We were there for my wife Monique’s birthday and closed the seasonof our campsite.”

7. Amusement (park) at Christmas

Jul , ‘Christmas’ in Swedish, is even crazier here than in America. Hereit is dark from half past two in the afternoon until ten in the morning, soeverything is completely decorated and illuminated. The magical and largeamusement park fits within that atmosphere Liseberg , blissful in the realsnow. There is also a cozy Christmas market, which is great fun to do. We camethere last year for my daughter Nora’s birthday on December 22.”

8. On the wish list

“With the Christmas special of the TV program ‘Camping Coppens’ we went to afantastic place in the High North: the Fjellborg Arctic Lodge. We went dogsledding. Quite expensive, but if you ever get the chance: it’s fantastic. Inthe future, I would like to offer such a dog sled myself to guests, but at anaffordable price. And then go see the Northern Lights. That is on my wishlist.”
