Paul Haenen vehemently against Anouar Diba at HLF8: ‘Homoly hate Muslims’

The ‘One Love’ captain’s armband that Feyenoord footballer Orkun Kökçü refusedto wear because of his religious beliefs was discussed on just about everytalk show last night. Likewise with HLF8 and that led to a heateddiscussion. Comedian and actor Paul Haenen and former football player AnouarDiba were diametrically opposed in a discussion about homophobia.

Kökçü did not want to wear the captain’s armband, which is intended as astatement against discrimination, because of his faith. Diba believes that noone should be forced into certain actions. In addition, according to Diba,Kökçü was not aware that the band was intended as an anti-discriminationstatement, rather than a statement for the LGBTQ+ community.

Paul Haenen in discussion with Anouar Diba about homophobia

“We as Muslims don’t have to discuss that, we’re just not going to wear it,”Diba refers to a band that would be intended as support for the LGBTQcommunity. “That is not allowed by our faith. If you don’t respect that, youdon’t respect us either. We are against any form of discrimination, only youcannot force someone to wear such a band.” The former football player believesthat Feyenoord could have made a statement by standing behind their captain.

“Isn’t it nice that it becomes clear where homophobia comes from?”, Haenenhooks in, who is also known with his alter-ego Dominee Gremdaat. “That wedon’t pretend that the whole of the Netherlands is very tolerant. That we allwear a band and then beat up gays. I think it’s good that he doesn’t wear itand that you immediately know: ‘That’s where the homophobia comes from’. Let’snot call each other sissies and be clear about that.”

Fierce discussion at HLF8 table

Diba turns towards Haenen. “Where do you think homophobia comes from?” AndHaenen is adamant about that: “From you, among others.” Then Diba asks if theactor himself is gay. “A lot of Muslims, that’s where the homophobia comesfrom,” says Haenen. After which the former football player emphasizes that italso comes from “a lot of Jews”. But Haenen continues: “And from strictevangelical people, it is widespread, the homophobia. And that has to comeout.” After which Diba emphasizes that after the comedian’s words we also”know where discrimination comes from”.

There is some commotion at the table about the meaning of the band. Dibastates that he will not have the discussion with Haenen because it is “not hislevel”. After which dinner guest Jack van Gelder mentions that he finds that abit “easy”. Van Gelder stands up for Haenen and gets into an altercation withthe former football player. Then presenter Hélène Hendriks intervenes. “We canalso just keep it civil and respect everyone’s opinion.”

‘Captain’s belt fake tolerance’

Later Haenen tells that he is against imposing such a band for footballplayers. “I’d rather it be clear where the hatred comes from. And thatsomething is being done about it and that we do not have an apparenttolerance.”

During the discussion, Diba sticks to his position and believes that everyonecan have their own opinion. When Hendriks ends the table conversation, Dibaemphasizes that he “as long as that gentleman does not come to sit at thetable”, after which he points to Haenen, he thinks it is “nice”.

These lies are indispensable for every hardstyle lover || Hard News

Everyone knows it: in the run-up to a party, the first lies already come.“Not sure if I ‘ll go” _or _ “I’m going to take it easy from now on.”Anyone who walks around a festival (every round is different) hears oneexcuse after another. Those phrases you already know: that will neverhappen.

1. “I’ll be right back, wait here!”

When you have just settled in at an internship and the DJ is playing hishardest records, your mate suddenly comes to you: _ “I’m away for a while, wait here for me.” _You only half hear it and see him leave so now youunderstand what he has said. You just carry on with what you were doing andthink you’ll see him again. But on his way to the toilet, bar or whatever hemeets ‘a few acquaintances’. Two groups of friends, 10 kilometers and 3 hourslater he comes back to you. Of course he has been through a lot and is notafraid to tell you all about it.

2. “I already know EXACTLY which DJs I’m going to”

Especially at big events it is sometimes hell to choose between certain sets. Some real planners make their own timetable in advance with the DJs where theywant to go. _“I ‘m really going to stick to my own timetable, because I wantto go to these DJs.” _Once you’ve arrived at the festival, you might stick tothe first few sets, but after a set or three, that entire timetable can go inthe trash. You’re just going to stay with an internship, because it’s muchcooler there than where you would go in the first place.

3. “We still have the whole weekend, so take it easy on Friday”

When entering a weekend festival, you naturally still have a whole weekendahead of you. You have already held a consultation with your friends inadvance and come to the conclusion that you should take it easy on Friday, because ‘you still have the whole weekend’. As soon as your tent is set up,the music is turned on and you are completely in the mood, that appointment isforgotten again. Saturday morning you just wake up broke just like any otherday on the weekend.

4. “I’m NOT going to afteren”

The festival is over and it’s time to go home again, or an after. With thelast set the speculation about the location of the after starts: _” At yourplace?” _Sometimes you keep yourself strong and say you’re not going, becauseafter all you’ve had it all day. Once you’ve left the festival, you’ve alreadyreconsidered that decision and you’re standing in the party’s parking lot oran hour later having dinner at a buddy’s house.

5. “Everything about this party sucks: but I’ll be there next yearanyway”

You know them: the biggest festival critics who always know better. They’rejust short of clipboards across the dance floor, as their extensive researchshows that “the lineup was much better last year” and that the party they’reattending “really isn’t what it used to be.” You could almost say that thisgrumbler chooses eggs for his money, but guess what.. Like a jack of alltrades, you come across this rave researcher jumping for happiness at thepreviously much-criticized party: “This really is the best festival ever!”

6. “Poh, that was another party for me… Now that’s enough for a while”

When that after is finally over and you come together again the next day andexchange all the stories, there is always that one person: _” That was anotherintense party, now I’m not going for a while.” _A large part of the group hasto laugh again, because that is really not going to happen. In no time at allyou and the entire festival group will be going completely crazy at a party.

Festival and excuses, they go hand in hand. What lie is still missing fromthis list? Let us know in the comments!

Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas together in new film: ‘Competencia Oficial’

Unbelievable but it has never happened before: Antonio Banderas and PenélopeCruz together as direct opponents in a film. But the Argentine directorsMariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, makers of successful comedies like ‘El hombrede al lado’ and ‘El ciudadano ilustre’, have succeeded with ‘CompetenciaOficial’. They not only act in the film but have co-written the scriptthemselves. And that makes for a very entertaining and interesting film, inwhich Banderas in particular pulls out all the stops to show why he is a topactor. The editors of the Spain glossy magazine ESPANJE! __has written thefollowing review and has on its own website __a win action! The trailer canbe seen at the bottom of this article.

The great Argentine actor Óscar Martínez is also at his best in this hilarioussatire on the film world, in which the actors actually make fun of themselves.Because in the end they mainly play themselves: Félix Rivero (Banderas) is areal playboy with an American career and a large trophy cabinet. Iván Torres(Martínez) is a radically meticulous theater actor and drama teacher who feelslike the guardian of Art with a capital A. They are brought together by LolaCuevas (Penélope Cruz), a world-famous and highly eccentric film director whohas a bag of money and carte blanche. receives from a wealthy industrialistwho would like to do a good deed at the end of his life by producing a film.

Lola pushes the two men to their limits to make them merge. It starts verysmall with the reading of the script, with both Banderas and Martínez having agreat time. Just pronouncing the words ‘buenos días’ produces a hilariousscene, in which they show what acting is really about.

Big opposites and egos

Félix is obsessed with women and the glamor of the film world. While Ivánarrives by taxi, Félix arrives in a fast car and a sexy blonde woman by hisside. He does what he has to do and likes to cut corners. He reads what is inthe script and if it is necessary to cry, a drop of vix nasal spray offers theway out. Iván, on the other hand, is a method actor who even needs to know hischaracter’s past or think of sad memories in his life in order to feel andshow his character’s emotion. He’s been married for years to the same womanwho doesn’t even understand the world of glamour. Those huge differencesbetween the two actors, magnified by Lola, quickly provide the comic effect.

According to Antonio Banderas, the film is not just about big egos in themovie world but about big egos in general. “I think there are such egos inevery profession, including journalism and politics. Although, in politics Ithink there are a lot more egos than in our world,” he said in an interviewwith the Spanish news agency EFE. The biggest ego in the film has Lola, whoreally demands the impossible from the men and further exacerbates theirrivalry. “She has an ego and a half,” Cruz told EFE. “I always imagined herdining alone in a fancy restaurant on Christmas Eve, under the guise of, ‘I’mfine, I don’t need anyone,’ but she feels terrible.”

Lovely to watch

Penélope Cruz likes comedies, although she thinks there are few good scripts.”It’s a very complicated genre, but with this script and the ‘eye’ of thesetwo – Banderas and Martínez – who see everything and who have such a peculiar, original and intelligent sense of humor, it was liberating to see this crazywoman to be able to play.’ Years ago the directors wanted to film with AntonioBanderas and Penélope Cruz, but this film only came after four years ofworking on the script, in which the actors also made an active contribution. And that is noticeable. “It would have been a different movie without them,”Duprat says.

At the end, the story seems to flip 180 degrees and degenerate into a terribledrama and the actors and Lola are more sensitive than they think. But in theend it turns out to be a joke by Félix. Is it still possible for the two toget closer? The actors should be able to do that. Because they actually lookvery similar. They are both driven by their ego, vanity and envy. And in theend it is the art of an actor that he can put himself in another person…

Despite it being quite a long film (it lasts almost two hours), it never getslong-winded and it’s almost a shame when it’s over. That’s because you areconstantly surprised by plot twists. But mainly because it is wonderful towatch these three.

Yvonne shows guts in Million Hunt, but her guts are punished | show

With videoThat the Eindhoven Yvonne has balls, was announced on Sunday eveningin the last episode of this season of Million night well clear. But her gutswere not rewarded: she played off one big amount after another, leaving thebank anything but generous. Despite that fact, Yvonne returned home with a bigsmile and a large amount of money.

The nearly 1.6 million viewers saw her start so energetically in the firstround: Yvonne played away the 200,000 euros and 750,000 euros, but she mainlymanaged to get low amounts from the briefcases. Linda de Mol was veryenthusiastic and called it a ‘very nice opening round’. The bank turned out tothink the same, because Yvonne received an initial offer of no less than77,000 euros. ,,An extremely high opening bid, really. I almost never seethat,” said the presenter with surprise.

But 55-year-old Yonne, who would love to start a small-scale bed and breakfastin the Portuguese Algarve, decided not to go into business with the bank.Round two, however, went a lot less well for her: both the 1 million euros andthe 2 million euros went out of the game. Again the bank made an attempt toconvince Yvonne to stop, but for 103,000 euros she preferred to play a littlefurther.

Success was not exactly on her side, because once again she lost a largeamount: the 2.5 million euros. “Ow, ouch, ouch. That’s not good. We now needthree lows”, De Mol cheered the nurse on. She then played away 25,000 euros,100 euros and 50 euros, but her hopes of winning a large amount diminishedwith the round. Meanwhile, the bank reported again with an amount of 166,000euros. Did Yvonne have to choose eggs for her money or did her curiosity win?She went ahead no deal meaning Yvonne continued the game.

Quote >>> Ow, ouch, ouch. That’s not good>> Linda de Mol

Risk

Unfortunately, her courage was not rewarded: in the fourth round, Yvonnepicked out the 5 million. ,,Amazing bummer “, De Mol empathized with her.Due to the loss of the huge amount, the bank offered 100,000 euros less thanthe last bid. De Mol again gave Yvonne some courage: she only had to open twobriefcases with low amounts and then the bank would probably come up with abetter offer. Yvonne took the gamble and closed the box: no deal.

The bank did not come up with a much better amount after that: 89,000 werebid. Yvonne took the risk and declined the offer. After opening one morebriefcase, the bank gave her 107,000 euros. What did she care, she thought, and so again she didn’t settle for the offer. “Ah, boys”, exclaimed De Mol.Yvonne had to make sure that she would keep the 300,000 and 500,000 euros inthe game, but when she opened the next briefcase she saw the 300,000 eurospass by.

The bank turned up again and saved Yvonne: the offer of 107,000 euros wasstill valid. “Yes, I have to take this,” she concluded. And so she went homewith more than a ton in her pocket. What was in her own briefcase? 500,000euros. Yvonne’s dream to start a bed and breakfast in Portugal shattered, butwith buying a new car and taking a nice trip with her children, Yvonne wasalready pleased with it.

Million dollar hunt is a popular briefcase game. This year it meant Linda deMol’s return to SBS 6 after the abuses in The Voice of Holland. Lindastopped her work in January after it turned out that her ex-partner JeroenRietbergen was involved. The recordings of Million dollar hunt dragged herthrough a dark period. A warm applause from the studio audience during thefirst episode moved her.

This man has been fighting for cheap cable internet for decades. Will he win this time?

Half cheaper, twice as fast. And you can choose which services and TV channelsyou want to include. A nice message, thinks Taco Jelgersma, in times when theprices for everything are skyrocketing. However, VodafoneZiggo’s TV cable mustthen open up to competition. The monopoly watchdog ACM will soon make astatement about this.

Herman StilOctober 18, 202203:00

It is the invisible money guzzler. The Dutch pay gold to be able to use theinternet, Netflix and telephone at home. It seems as if there are more thanenough internet providers who happily tumble over each other with greatoffers, but in fact there are only two giants that dominate our fixed internettraffic: KPN for the telephone lines, VodafoneZiggo for the TV cable.

KPN’s telephone cables have traditionally been open to competitors, one of theachievements of the privatization of state-owned company PTT. However, the TVcable is still, like an old Soviet state, closed to any competitor.

It is true that many cable networks were set up by municipalities fifty yearsago, when commerce took care of these lucrative cables, those governments weremore than happy to sell their property for good money. For example, theAmsterdam KTA, set up by the municipality and the housing associations, passedfrom hand to hand as A2000 and later UPC.

Sometimes there were agreements about openness – for example, the local TVstation Salto had to be given a place in Amsterdam – and there are stillAsterix villages such as the municipality of Harderwijk where competition oncable is rampant, but in most cases market agreements went silently overboardin successive cable takeovers. .

Prices for internet are significantly higher here

And we are still paying the price for that. Literally, thinks internetentrepreneur Taco Jelgersma. Because KPN can determine the access price forthe competition itself to a certain extent and Ziggo can keep the cable all toitself, the prices for internet and TV here are significantly higher than inmost other European countries. “In Italy you pay 25 to 30 euros for a gigabitinternet with the largest provider. Here 60 euros.”

This is because KPN and VodafoneZiggo form a duopoly in the internet area, which controls 85 percent of the market. “As a result, we pay more forinternet here every year and get less for it every year.”

Look at the market for mobile web access, says Jelgersma, where competitionhas resulted in choice and price drops. “That is also possible with fixedinternet, but not as long as Ziggo is allowed to shield its cable.”

The Jelgersma’s could easily be dismissed as donquichots, were it not for thefact that father Peter Jelgersma is pretty much the godfather of cable TV. Inthe 1970s he was involved in the arrival of many local cable networks, including those in Amsterdam. In the eighties he set up Filmnet, the firstpay-TV channel in the Netherlands, and with Joop van den Ende he joined thecommercial channels TV10 (flopped) and Radio10 (successful). He harassed thecable industry with digital terrestrial TV via Digitenne, which he thenmanaged to sell to KPN for good money.

The accumulated capital is now invested by his son Taco in all kinds oftechnological investments and provides sufficient profit to continue thebattle for the cable network. But, he admits, that also has to do with thestubbornness of the Jelgersma’s. After all: why resign yourself to somethingso illogical?

Battle against telecom giants

Fifteen years ago, father and son founded Youca, from Your Cable – Jelgersmaadmits that a better name has yet to be invented. For the time being, Youca isprimarily a cost item, a vehicle for carrying out an endless stream ofprocedures. It has been a lost battle so far, against the telecom giants andagainst the regulators in The Hague and in Brussels. And if the Dutch monopolycracker ACM then draws a line through that duopoly and obliges both KPN andZiggo to open their networks, the administrative court will draw a linethrough it, as happened in 2020.

Politicians, in Amsterdam as well as in The Hague and Brussels, are anxiouslyaloof. “What do you want, if you are constantly advised that competition isvery bad for digital innovation. All introduced by the telecom lobby.”

He maintains that more competition would mean that the cable companies haveless money to install fiber optic cables into the houses, for example, so thatthe internet speeds cannot increase any further. A nonsensical argument, according to Jelgersma. “Why are so many investors, including pension fundABP, now diving into the installation of fiber optic cable?”

In his opinion, that glass is not necessary at all. “Can you imagine how longit will take for the whole of Amsterdam to be glazed? All those canals, allthose suburbs? While there is a fantastic ready-to-use network that can handlespeeds of up to 10 gigabits: the cable.”

Price halving

Jelgersma has now submitted a claim to ACM for cable access in Amsterdam. Hedeliberately limited himself, so that the supervisor can handle a somewhatmanageable file. “The whole of the Netherlands at once would have been toomuch.” But, he reveals, other cities will not be left behind with gains.

“Organisationally, everything is ready. The equipment, the organization, themarketing. We even have agreements in principle with Ziggo. We can startwithin six months of the verdict.” He assumes that a price cut in half willattract forty to fifty thousand of the more than 450,000 Amsterdam households.“And you’ll see Internet access prices going down everywhere.”

Because it concerns an ACM ruling, there is no case law. Other hijackers onthe coast will have to follow their own procedure. Jelgersma: “I expect thatthings will go quickly after a positive ruling. ACM will not allow anothermonopolist to be created with Youca. And who knows, Ziggo may say: let’s openthings up completely then.”

As an entrepreneur, he does not understand why the cable giant is firmlyagainst. “KPN gets 15 percent of its network traffic from competitors’services. That makes KPN a lot of money. That would be no different forVodafoneZiggo.” He suspects that the Dutch Ziggo management is willing, butthat the American shareholder, Liberty Global, is against competition. “TheAmerican way: sue them to hell.”

trench warfare

Not that he has KPN on his side. On the contrary. “KPN benefits from thestatus quo. They now have a monopoly on competition. When the Ziggo cableopens, their customers walk away. I am convinced that behind the scenes KPN isstrongly opposed to opening up.”

And so it is a fine trench warfare, which is waged from the third floor of asub-office on the Vijzelgracht. Jelgersma does not think about giving up. “Myfather started this; he is now 80 years old and still just as combative. WhenI’m 80 it’s either been open for years or I’m still fighting for it.” He justdoesn’t see his young daughters following in those footsteps.

ACM’s judgment is expected before the end of the year. The regulator has justretrieved the final responses to Youca’s request. Even after the ACM judgment, the battle is far from over. “If I lose, I will go back to court. And if Iwin, Ziggo will.”

Moreover, the cable operator, he expects, will do everything it can to trainthings as long as possible in the event of a positive judgment. “The questionis at which point in the cable network we will have access. If it is up toZiggo, this is at street cabinet level, which means that we have to lay cablesourselves to about 15,000 cabinets. Priceless of course. In our opinion, it isquite possible to plug in at the top of that cable network. That is how it is

A ‘virgin lamb’ takes a chance and Olga Leyers quizzes without pants (or so it seems) in ‘The very smartest human being’ | THE SMARTEST HUMAN IN THE WORLD

TVShe already had the victory of Bart Cannaerts and Michèle Cuvelier, but atthe start of her third inning it mainly seemed that Olga Leyers had forgottento put on trousers or another wardrobe item. There were mostly bare legs to beseen. Jury member Jelle De Beule immediately noticed this. “I think it’s riskythat Olga isn’t wearing pants,” it sounded. Which of course was not the case. But Olga also didn’t make it with (short) pants this time.

She only wanted to uphold the honor of the family. When she immediatelysucceeded in her first participation and Bart Cannaerts saw his record blownthrough the nose, ‘De Allerslimste Mens’ was only ‘fun’, fun, entertainmentand ‘girl power’ for Olga Leyers. And in the final she had to give up ongirlfriend Danira Bouhkriss, ‘a girl with a mission’: to become the VerySmartest Human. And nothing less.

Nice mission by the way, to become the ‘Smartest Human’. Whether it’s asensible mission is another matter. Danira has since survived five episodes. Two straight wins, three finals won. At her first participation, she metcompetitor Geert Meyfroidt in the final. He was clearly more than satisfiedwith his three participations and suddenly knew little to say about Erasmus inthe final. Danira’s second final was a killing field for opponent Gilles DeCoster. “I had no chance at all,” he said. And now Danira was sitting oppositea completely relaxed Olga Leyers. He had already crawled through the eye ofthe needle twice (just think of Sally Rooney and Cruijff) and wanted to dothat stunt again. It could have been better: the keywords spy, scout, deminer, sergeant and lieutenant were really not that difficult to designate theStratego pawns (lowest in rank). Still, it didn’t work. To which Danira playedout coolly and mercilessly. “I’m not going to cry”, the girl made clear, thatin 2016 Kris Wauters was played home after eleven participations and thencried tears of disappointment.

So Danira is in victory mode. However, she can no longer become the bestplayer. That is and remains Bart Cannaerts. She may soon become the secondbest candidate for ‘Allerslimste Mens’. And thus ensure that alwaysinteresting spot, where you can warm up one episode first and then, if yousurvive, you get to play the grand finale. If Danira continues to steam a bit,Bart will have to be very wary.

And then there was the debut of Riadh Bahri, also described as the ‘nicest VRTjournalist’. And always with the tip of his tongue between his teeth when hehas to laugh. You can laugh at him, because he laughs at himself. At his firstvisit to ‘De Slimste Mens’ in 2020 we already learned that he had alreadycontracted some venereal diseases. Now we learned that he was free fromsyphilis. Good to know…

The roguish, cheerful jury duo Sven De Leijer and Jelle de Beule obviously hada hard time with Riadh. Which led to a lot of funny moments. You can alsolaugh in between the quiz violence.

The best quotes

Riadh (describes his feelings): “I feel like a virgin lamb on my way to theslaughter to be ritually slaughtered without stunning by these two beautifuldivas here beside me.”

Riadh (why he participates): “I come to laugh, to have a good time. But thatwill be difficult tonight.”

Riadh (about his anchorage at ‘Het Journaal)’: “Sometimes I come home and askmyself what I’ve been saying for half an hour. But the viewer may have thattoo.”

Erik (to Riadh about Danira and Olga): “You play against the Bart Cannaertskillers.”

De Beule (says what everyone is thinking): “I think it’s daring that Olgahasn’t put on any pants.”

Danira (after Riadh talks about ‘pooping’): “That’s a Journal anchor hey.” Towhich De Leijer replies: “Correction: wax.”

Hilarious moments

The professional jury continues to discuss how much Erik Van Looy actuallyearns (after Danira complimented Erik). “You should be able to do that, readthings from cards and get paid a lot for that,” says De Beule. To which DeLeijer: “He does that for two months at a time and he has to wait the rest ofthe year.”

The professional jury and Danira laugh at the possibility that Erik Van Looywould one day present ‘Het Journaal’. Recognizable sentences follow such as“It happened”, “That’s not on my card”, a firm “God damn it” and theinfectious laugh.

The practical test is and remains the nightmare for the candidates. But forten seconds they do everything. So also a bad acting performance as Bart DeWever.

Tipping moments

Just about for the first time, some seriousness is released in ‘3-6-9’ and VanLooy is allowed to strike.

‘Open door’ is a weak round for the candidates. Also in the ‘Puzzle’ Riadhremains on the sucker. Danira and Olga score a lot and quickly.

Riadh gets a very simple photo question and quickly scores a maximum. Danirahas to recognize flags in a Rubik’s cube and doesn’t. She scores a zero. “Ithink this is a stupid round. I think everything is stupid”, is her reaction. And suddenly she looks at a big disadvantage.

In the all-decisive round of films, all candidates score well, but Riadh getsan extra 100 seconds. In the very last clip, Riadh unwittingly seals Olga’sfate. He stops after three correct answers, because he is sure to win. Olgafinds a fourth answer about K3 and Eurosong, but Danira scores the last answerand gets 50 seconds in the end. Those will be decisive in the final.

In the finale, an easy question about Stratego seals Olga’s fate. Exit afterthree entries and no place in the final weeks.
